Henry Smith MP

Henry lives in Crawley with his wife Jennifer, who used to work for the local NHS, and was a Crawley Councillor for eight years. They have a young daughter and son and spend what spare time there is with family activities.

Henry ran his own Crawley based business and in 1997 was elected to West Sussex County Council representing the South and East neighbourhoods of the Borough.

In 2003 he was elected Leader of West Sussex when at 34 he became the youngest county leader in the country. He was also Chairman of the South East County Leaders group, representing all counties across the greater south east.

Additionally Henry has previously been a Governor at The Oaks, The Brook and Oriel High schools across the town.

Speaking about his role as the Member of Parliament from Crawley since 2010 Henry says:

“Being elected to represent Crawley and Great Britain in the historic House of Commons is an honour. Regardless of whether someone voted for me or not my pledge is to help all constituents, champion our community and serve the country for a better future.”
