Conservative governments have been successfully running our NHS for 44 of its 71 years, and absolutely believe it must be there for everyone in the country to rely on free at the point of use. Yet despite this, ahead of every single election Labour scaremonger that the NHS will be either privatised or sold off.
“This is fundamentally untrue” says Crawley’s Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, Henry Smith; continuing;
“By keeping our economy strong, we’ve been able to support our NHS since 2010, with services returning to Crawley after Labour’s cuts.
“As well as getting Brexit done a majority Conservative Government will get on with bringing the change people voted for, including giving the NHS its biggest cash boost in history of an extra £33.9 billion, and making sure this funding gets to our hospitals as well as increased GP appointments capacity.”
Under recently announced proposals; 78 hospitals, including Crawley, will receive new, state-of-the-art MRI, CT and mammography screening machines, so cancer can be detected more quickly to boost survival rates.
“As founder of the Blood Cancer All-Party Parliamentary Group this is a development I particularly welcome.
“Under the Conservatives, there are over 17,000 more doctors and more than 16,000 nurses on our wards nationwide, including in Crawley. All 1 million NHS staff – nurses, midwives and cleaners – are getting a well-deserved pay rise of at least 6.5 per cent. We’re also opening five new medical schools to make sure we can plan for the future with confidence as we train the next generation of NHS staff here at home.
“Playing politics with healthcare is irresponsible, instead our focus must be on continuing to deliver for an NHS which every family in Crawley and the UK relies on.”
