Henry Smith has paid tribute to Central Sussex College in the House of Commons for opening a university presence in Crawley last September.
Henry said:
“I was delighted to be able to pay tribute to Central Sussex College in the House of Commons for opening a university centre at the heart of our town.
“Central Sussex College, as of September, has started offering full time higher education which is a great opportunity for Crawley young people. By having a university institution in our town, it offers local students the ability gain degree level qualification in conjunction with some of the area's global class companies. Whilst at the same time continuing to live in the Borough, helping them to save on the cost of university accommodation or commuting.
“Under Labour only 17% of Crawley young people went on to higher education, often because local pathways to degree courses leading to quality employment didn't exist."
