Residential Environmental Improvements
It was agreed to proceed with an improvement scheme for the Dickens Road area, Tilgate. After a three-week consultation, residents were broadly in favour of the proposals, particularly the provision of new parking bays.

LDF (Local Development Framework)
Crawley Borough Council’s LDF is the strategic planning document looking ahead to 2012 and beyond for meeting the town’s development needs. The Council had received the report of the external inspection and noted that the LDF Core Strategy was found to be basically sound - one of very few in the country to have achieved this judgement.
Housing Maintenance and Enhancement Programme
The Council’s Executive endorses a £60 million, four-year programme to enhance the Council’s housing stock (more than 8,000 units in total) to the newly-agreed ‘Crawley Standard’.

The HMAG is finally formed
At the May Membership Committee, we finally formed the new cross-party HMAG (Housing Maintenance Advisory Group). Incredibly Labour Leader, Councillor Brenda Smith, came to the meeting without tabling any names for her group. And this after the Labour Group had delayed the formation of the HMAG at an earlier Full Council meeting.

Conservatives tried on 28th March to form the important new HMAG to agree an investment programme for our Council homes. Labour votes obstructed this process imposing unnecessary delay for our tenants. |
